Diverse celebrations of the Chinese New Year have sent festive vibes across the city as people from various cultures express their good wishes for the Year of the Rabbit.

Shenzhen’s 2023 Spring Festival Flower Fair, a traditional event that spices up the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, opened today at its main venue in Gangxia, Futian District and 10 subvenues. With a total of 2,900 flower stalls, the fair will run through Jan. 21 and will also be held at a number of fixed flower markets across the city. Shoppers can buy not only flowers but also Chinese New Year decorations.

The border between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong reopened today, paving the way for a restoration of economic and social ties that have been disrupted for three years.
